I'm at work now....so can't tell you for sure....but it was sort of SouthEast of Balmora.....Molag Mar region if IIRC. It was a cave.

The map had a block of area that that was "uncovered"...so I decided to go and check it out. I stumbled across a cave and it had 6th house people in it. One dagoth....rest were ash slaves, a ghoul or two, dreamers, etc.... Oh...and of course a set of bells.

One of the self-quests I'm playing with now, is (while doing other small quests here and there), trying to get the entire map filled in (e.g. visit everywhere). It's funny that I've done the MQ and so much since, both add-ons and still have so much of the map unvisited. LOL

I think I've been to that one.

There's a tomb there which I always went to early in the game. I would fight the Daedric Lord in there, grab his Daedric weapon, and go see Mudcrab immediately afterwards.

One of the self quests I have yet to do is visit all caves and caverns. There are a few underwater ones off the coasts.

Yeah....there is a list...either in the book or on a website somewhere that had all the underwater caves...I think I was trying to visit them all at one time...I either already did them all, or have done most of them.

I've got to finish all the House quests, other faction quests, and all the misc quests in the book.

I keep finding houses with wizards and other "big shots" in them way out yonder in nowhere land. Nice to see them but I know I can't kill them because I may need them later for something in a quest I don't even know about yet.

The Morag Tong quests are fun!

Trav....I found a fun little cave last night if you haven't stubled on it before.


It's called Punsabanit. If you take a boat to Dagon Fel, then head south down the road that tracks along the east coastline, you'll eventually stumble across it. It's near where the road forks, just south of Mzuleft.

Baddies in there were nothing great. But caves went pretty far and had some "decent" loot. The first time I went in I found some daedric/ebony weapons and/or armour, but before I saved my game crashed (it does it in Morrowind once in a blue moon). When I got back to it the 2nd time, it only had like one daedric weapon, but still lots of magic scrolls and potions.


BTW, Have you ever been to Shara? I need to find it to kill a guy for Morag Tong, but I'm having a dickens of a time finding it. It's supposed to be an island in southwest Sheograd region. I used directions in the book, but they seem to be taking me back to "main island".

Nevermind....I found Shara in the book (Dagon Fel map). The way the book desribes directions to it make it sound like its on an island off the main island, but its not, its down in the southwest corner of the main island.

I'll take a look. I may have been there. That was one of the areas I went to to just stand on the beach and shoot fireballs into the sky to build up my magic skills. And do a little exploring. But I would always hesitate to do any seriuos probing not wanting to wreck a future quest I knew nothing of yet.

Well....I've been having fun! How much of the island is explored by your character? I'm gonna post a screen shot...I'm working on it...getting a decent amount of ground covered.

I found a fun little quirk in a dave way out in that long (east - west) island (the one that shows Ald Redaynia on the map. I exploring a baddie cave there...nothing serious in the cave (no real good loot either)....but I came across a suspicious looking pool of water. I suspected it to have something in it (like maybe an underwater passage to another area). So I hopped in, but couldn't find anything....but while looking I swam all the way to the bottom hitting against the bottom of the pool. Then suddenly I feel this sense of vertigo and realize I'm falling. I suddenly fell and landed in another part of the cave I'd just come from (not below that pool). That was odd....must have been a bug in the game.


Another thing that ****** me off is that I got this kicking daedric weapon (forget what it was called now), but it was worth 80,000 drakes! Well I was at the fortress Rotheran and was getting overencumbered. I decided to drop some heavy stuff there and come back for it later. There was one of those ash pits on top...so I dropped it there as an easy to remember spot. Well I come back and get the rest of the weapons, but that expensive one was nowhere to be found. There was another weapon there that was missing too....but I eventually came across it in the ash even though I couldn't see it. I thought that was the case with the other, but no matter how many times I combed over it, I never saw or got the "popup" for that other weapon.

It was GONE! Damn it! Muddy would have paid well for that weapon. I shouldn't complain...it's not like I could spend the money I have now anyway.....I am pushing 4 million drakes!

Trav, ever been to a cave called Assu? It's nearly right on top of the square makred for Mount Kand. There is a staff called the Staff of Magnus (great powers and worth 210,000 drakes if you sell) and some other goodies (Daedric dagger). Nice little loot hole.


That staff is surely one of the "super" weapons (it is named after all).

Also...had that same odd bug here....I went down to bottom of water and my character suddenly dropped from ceiling back in first section of cave (just inside door). This is now the 2nd cave this has happened. In fact....I did it in two different sections of the water and came out in same place. I'm thinking it is a game bug for sure.

Yep!

I carry the Staff of Magnus as standard equipment with me. Got it a long time ago when some quest carried me into the area. That's why quests always take me a while. I explore. And I find good stuff.

I use it for health recharging and battles. Look at the whopping huge charge it carries. And my blunt weapon skill of course is 100. I can take out anything with this weapon. Combined with the Boots of Blinding Speed of course.
