|  Counter-strike help in winXP All of a sudden for some reason counter-strike freezes the comp when my son plays the game, did this on win2k, so I formatted and installed winXP on his comp, and the game does it againwhen exiting a server and then trying to join another one, anyone have any ideas? Retail version completely updated to 1.3 too

| hi john, i got this problem some time last year but the only thing i did was to get the latest detornator from NVidia i know there is someone else who knows how to solve this problem should the problem persist |

| have you tried updating Windows?? there is an update that patches many games including CS

| Done it all, everything has been updated both in win2k and then on the winXP machine too, even clean installs then updates, notthing seems to work, and I hate to go back to winBlowsMe just for a game
