It's jungle fever all over again - Far Cry developer Crytek officially announces its next original FPS for PC

it's official; Crysis is alive and bringing alien-enthused jungle gunplay to PCs everywhere soon...Crysis follows special agent Jack Dunn as he investigates strange environmental phenomena on a Pacific island, following a mysterious spaceship's crash-landing. The game will be published by EA as part of a worldwide partnership deal, and is being developed using Crytek's brand new CryENGINE 2, promising to take full advantage of the new bells and whistles offered by the next-generation of Direct X...

I can't wait for either of them. I really can't wait for games to look like the toy shop demo video from ATI though. I really like the water effects in it.

Sweet, can't wait. I hope it as good as the first one, and that I have a computer that can handle it.

Guys, get hold of a copy of this month's EDGE magazine, it's got an eight page preview of CRYSIS with loads of new shots and info on the new engine, it uses hemoglobin maps on the characters! .

If you haven't downloaded the Cry Engine 2 Tech Demo, you should (37 MB). It is short but incredible with interactive environment, volumetric clouds, soft shadows and more. The shadows are incredible, as is the interactive environment. In fact, everything shown is incredible. With this engine Crysis will be a must have.

I don't know what the final version of the game will require, but my 6200 ran the Cry Engine 2 tech demo with no problem whatsoever.
