| Re: Crysis Eight to ten hours long? Frack me, but that's absurd. I'm reconsidering my purchase.

| Re: Crysis Ah...what I was afraid of all the time. The dreaded "your locked in an arena-style combat with a giant boss monster" cliche'. From the PC World review: "The most serious problem, though, is the way Crysis starts in kilometer-size jungle areas but ends on a claustrophobic aircraft carrier, complete with "Sorry, that's locked, you shall not pass!" doors and blocked-off passageways. After a depressingly conventional end sequence, you have to fight the obligatory super-size-me "boss" yoked to gimmicky patterns to which you must react or die."

| one more review... EuroGamer 9/10 Review - Crysis // PC /// Eurogamer "This is a game that feels supremely engineered, like a precision machine, or a German automobile. It makes Half-Life 2 seem old and frail, but by the same token it does nothing to diminish the imaginative achievements of that series. Crysis is impressive, but not imaginatively bold. Nor does it engage us like some other great shooters - such as BioShock - have done with their world and their personality. It's far better than Far Cry, and it's clearly going to create a rabid army of fans"

| Re: Crysis No thanks, I'll pass on Crysis. I'm really beginning to see that my idea of great gaming differs 180 degrees from that of the general reviewers community. With all the high scores for BioShock - a dumbed down consolized version of System Shock 2 - to Crysis and it's "eight to ten hour single player campaign" and been-there-done-that ad nauseum ending I have to wonder what most of these "reviewers" have been smoking.

| Re: Crysis Nevertheless i can follow the thought, that in the end all the innovative and new things (if you would like to call it that) didn't help them in creating a really new game. I'm too considering not to buy the game. Greetings Dru P.S.:Maybe later, when it's cheaper.

but gives it 9.5/10. They complained it had no team deathmatch. What does a game have to do to get a 10/10? Personally, I would have taken a point off for only being 10 hours long. Thats disgraceful given the resources they had.

| Re: Crysis I called my boy at Game Stop and told him I'd come in tomorrow and put the money I have down on Crysis towards something else. This will be just like Far Cry...an wonderful game engine with not much else going for it. And as far as eight or ten hours of play goes...even if that means a few hours more in "our" time, is that worth fifty bucks? Or even forty?

And I'm a sucker anyway..... And just like Jim Said---8-10 hours translates to 20 hours or more for me... If it wows me like COD4 did----I'll be happy.... Who says PC gaming is dead!!! There is a TON of shooters recently released: Down and dirty quick reviews (and I don't claim to be the expert---but I've played most and know what I like): STALKER---simply superb----looking forward to more from those Russian guys.... HL2 Ep 2----been there, done that, got the tee shirt----but even after all these years, the series is STILL enjoyable! Bioshock----not my cup of tea at all----but I could see how others would like its immersive qualities COD4----I don't care if people say this game is short----get this game NOW! You will love it! Timeshift----OK, with some interesting quirks----am I entertained? Yes----- Is it spectacular?----no FEAR Perseus Mandate----Kinda been there and done that----but the combat is entertaining and fairly challenging HellGate London----haven't played yet----appears I need to be a "Hunter" if I want to play a traditional "shooter" role.... Gears of War---Not my cup of tea----3rd person makes it into more of an arcade game---graphics are good and the cinematics outstanding----too bad it's not a traditional 1st person shooter BlackSite Area 51---haven't played yet Soldier of Fortune Payback---haven't played yet Cyrsis---haven't played yet I pick the last three up tomorrow.... I'm gonna be a busy boy this Xmas!! My wife is gonna kill me.....

| Re: Crysis Thanks John, Good reminder on what I need to shift my Crysis down payment to...I think I'll move it to Project Origin. My interest in F.E.A.R was waned since Monolith lost it in their publisher's reshuffle. The expansion was O.K. but nothing great, but Project Origin has my interest up again. I loved F.E.A.R. and am really looking forward to getting back with Monolith again.

| Re: Crysis The MP beta was really fun, beta bugs notwithstanding. It brought to mind the fun I had playing BF1942 and C&C Renegade...vehicle combat, big open maps, purchasable upgrades, guns, and vehicles...If MP of this type is your thing is your thing, i think this game would definitely be worth checking out if you feel the single player is lacking (which I really don't)
