| Re: Crysis Nice... I was thinking about getting COD4, but thought I would choose between the two. I haven't played COD since the 1st one, but I was really impressed with the Crysis demo.. I mean, really, really impressed. Good to know the multiplayer should provide some needed replay value to the game.

| Re: Crysis Not everybody. I went back and started a new NWN2 game. It may make me pull my hair out, but at least I know I'm getting more than sixteen hours of gameplay. Or even twenty at my non-professional pace.

| Crysis- what got cut out of the final game The following list comprises a brief slightly spoiler-ific (warning!) collection of ideas developer Crytek originally planned to include in Crysis, but pulled somewhere along the way, presumably for design or programmatic reasons... Game On On the Cutting Room Floor with Crysis

| Re: Crysis I must be an idiot. Since Project Origin didn't have an in-store date and no other games were on the near horizon that I wanted I went ahead and got Crysis. It was easier to do that then let my down payment float at Game Stop for the next-who-knows-how-long. I hope I don't dislike this game as much as I disliked BioShock.

if you're looking for every game to be a revolutionary gameplay experience then you are in for many more disappointments...enjoy it for what it is and not for something you hope for along with other un-realistic expectations a game doesn't have to be revolutionary to be an enjoyable game or even a great game Crysis has been talked about for over a year now and the info has all been consistent with the final product on the shelves today...plus the demo's have been out for a few weeks as well...it is what it is...if you were expecting something radically different then you need to re-examine how you evaluate things

| Re: Crysis I'm not looking for "revolutionary" necessarily, just not a retread of the same thing I've been seeing now in virtually-every-freaking-game I play. It doesn't bother you that you know the end of a game before you play it? And that when you arrive there it's the same place you've been since 1994, only the scenery is (sort of) different? It certainly bores the heck out of me to know that I'll wind up locked in arena-style combat with a big boss monster. You're not in the least bit annoyed by the stunning lack of imagination shown by developers when it comes to what should be the climax of a game? And, come on , for fifty bucks isn't twenty hours of gameplay a little bit too little? Jeez, nearly everyone blows a gasket over omigodlookatthegraphics and give BioShock and Crysis high scores when what we have at the end of the day is a well-dressed skeleton. Pretty on the outside and pretty empty inside. Yes, I loved the demo but I also expressed my fear that Crysis would go the standard end-game route (and it apparently has) but I didn't anticipate an official sub-twenty hour experience. At least BioShock gave me more than that. So as far as me re-examining how I evaluate things - no thanks. I think I'd rather not be sanguine with the mediocrity of what passes for creativity from today's developers. At least some folks like CDProjekt and GSC are still doing interesting stuff and breaking new ground.

| Crysis Patch Coming Within Two Weeks The fan site InCrysis has the transcript of a IRC session Thursday with Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek and Roy Taylor, Vice President of Content Relations at NVIDIA as they talk about their just released first person shooter Crysis. In the chat Yerli states, "We are collecting up all the user feedback now and planning patches that will address as much as possible as fast as possible. The first patch will be out in 7-14 days." Also, Taylor states that NVIDIA plans to release new drivers to improve Crysis performance, saying, "Performance will improve, almost with every single driver drop and patch of the game. Literally every day and week we keep working on the drivers we can see improvements." inCrysis - Guide to the game Crysis - Chat with Cevat Yerli & Roy Taylor [+ transcript] **according to that interview, it looks like Crysis is the first part of a planned trilogy...I can only imagine the hardware requirements for the 2nd part ![]()

| Re: Crysis I'm amazed that there was even a "contest" between COD4 and Crysis. I mean Crysis would be the obvious winner. Still I can appreciate COD4 for how beautiful the graphics are and how well it runs on my laptop. Seems I am never home anymore, so I haven't got to try it yet, but it would have to smoke on my desktop. I still can't play Crysis at all. I loaded the new beta Nvidia drivers and it actually ran worse! I have said it before, but I think the specs on Crysis are purposely inflated to promote hardware sales. COD4 was a good indication to me what a less then cutting edge computer can do when a game is properly coded. My laptop only has a Geforce GO 7600 (256mb RAM) Not bad for a lappy, but I didn't expect it would play any latest greatest as well as it does COD4.

Jeez...homework just to play a game...at least with a good FPS all I need to know is where the bad guys are and how much ammo I've got.

| Re: Crysis I watched my nephews playing CoD4 last night on their X-Box Live. Very nice looking game. The fifteen year old was amused that the "R700" sniper rifle is the same gun I go deer hunting with.
