| Acceptable Framerate Settings??? What are you guys running for acceptable framerates??? What settings???? I tried 1680 x 1050 and it brought my high end machine to it's knees. Q6600, 4 gigs RAM, Raid 5, 8800 GTX, Vista Home 32 Bit with latest Beta Nvidia drivers Am currently doing 1024 x 768.... But it just doesn't feel/look as good as it should..... Sticks and debris render on the sand VERY slowly----and it's giving me a headache..... I just know it can look and run better than this.... Give me your suggestions please! Also----where are the big maps like Far Cry??? These maps seem awful small with a very narrow corridor----but I'm not that far into the game----just lost Jester to some flying thingy......

the maps are huge...you are very early in the game, so give it some time...I'm up to the 'Assault' level at the harbor and it is amazing...the map is huge and you literally have tons of ways to accomplish the missions...I've been on this map all day trying out all the various methods I think all the levels up to this point have been huge with many different paths/roads/off-road options given to you...you are usually given a direct (shortest path) road, but I never use that option as it is usally filled with the most enemy troops...I always look for longer/better options---plus I love exploring

| Re: Crysis I just finished it. The only thing that made it hard when on hard was the typical let’s make the enemy almost impervious approach. It’s funny when the model does not have any armor and I am a good shot. I had so bullets connect to the dome piece only to have them call out “fight like a man!” Arg, that gets annoying. The levels were big. I felt they were big and there was life to them. Even though all games are truly linear, you were able to stretch out and handle the methods in whatever mode desired. But this scaled, it starts off kind of small, and keeps on increasing. You will see what I mean, I think. But the game I think was short. It has a longer game time than COD4, but it is short for the money. Not bad though; different I must say. This game is like Doom, Half Life, Halo and Far Cry all wrapped into one. Seriously, the one thought was going through my mind was what the designers wanted to say to the other companies “ha ha look what we can do!” I think they, without a doubt, deserve game of the year even though I do not think it is the best game ever. It’s what they achieved on so many levels that makes me say this. Technically it is marvelous, IMO. It was very playable. My settings were high on everything 1280x1024 with no AA. Using the GPU benchmark I almost get close to 50FPS max on the 4th run using the 169.09 beta drivers with Windows XP. The average is in the mid 40’s. All well, off to toss some frogs into the black………… Last edited by shaihulud; 11-18-2007 at 08:48 PM.. |

Somewhere in this thread there was an article from Tom's Hardware on Crysis, and they offered some optimization tips. I played with them a little bit in the demo and I was able to get an additional 15fps or so out of it. And for those of you who say SLI is just a marketing ploy, try running this game at that resolution on high settings.

| Re: Crysis So thats it?! After all these months of waiting, of hearing about it, of the speculation and rumours, of the sytems building and upgrading, of the leaked info, the amazing videos, arguing about Xp versus Vista and Dx10, pouring over the screen shots, the endless debate about system specs, you FINISHED already?
