Re: Crysis

I loved the game as well but it was just way to short.

Re: Crysis

Ok, I'm finished. Great game. There were a few tricky places, especially getting the TAC (sp?) gun to lock on at the end, but it's all good. Definitely worth the $19.99 (+tax) at EB Games.

Yep! Great game!

I'll do it again one day.

Re: Crysis

Finally finished the game.
But not on the rig in my sig, a samller one, some settings to medium for the final battle. But i enjoyed it and i think i'll play it another time, with higher settings, i think it looks good with high details.

Greetings

Dru

upgraded my 8800GT to an overclocked GTX 260 and ran the built in benchmarking tools...ran the benchmark using DX10, AA= 2X, 1600 x 1200 resolution and ALL advanced graphic settings on 'Very High'

CPU benchmark 1---> Average FPS: 43
CPU benchmark 2---> Average FPS: 29
GPU benchmark------> Average FPS: 40

the difference in image quality from 'High' to 'Very High' is actually not that noticable...the lighting and shadows are a bit better but overall not a major difference to the untrained eye...honestly the game looked just as good on my 8800GT and upgrading my video card mainly helped my FPS go up

The part that I love with everything set to Very High in Crysis IS the shadows, especially the shadows deep in the forrest.

Walking around with the wind blowing through the trees and watching the shadows through the tree leaves falling on the ground in front of me moving around with total realism as I walked was WOW!!! All that happening while the river was babbling next to me on the path and then the surprise attack .... WOW!!!

And speaking of the attack, if you are hiding in the bushes you can see the enemy's shadow coming from around the rock before you see his feet.

Re: Crysis

I bought Crysis in anticipation of building my quad core system to be completed sometime in February,I could play it on my son's dual core system but prefer to wait(he's got a Geforce 256 meg video card and I'm installing a 512 meg one with a 1 gig to be bought sometime in the future).I've played the demo and I think this will be the coolest game I've played yet(Quake III was the first for me)

yup better to wait until you build your new rig with the 1GB video card...Crysis is a beast...Crysis Warhead is a bit less resource intensive

I'm replaying Crysis now on the 'Delta' setting with my new GTX 260 video card...very nice experience playing it with all graphical settings at their max and DX10...best looking game ever---shadows, lighting, water...plus on the Delta setting there are no crosshairs to assist you in aiming and the Korean soldiers speak no English...adds a much more realistic element to the game

Re: Crysis

I'm still trying to finish the game for the first time. I'm stuck in the last chapter, trying to figure out how to hit the red button for the carrier nuclear reactor.

I remember that room!

But I can't remember the solution.

press the 'use' key to activate the button...I believe you also have to enter that room with all the radiation to push those rods down using your 'Strength' nanosuit function

The 'use' key doesn't get it done - it looks like it's covered with a plastic shield. I also can't figure out how to get into the room to push those rods down either.

Re: Crysis

I think I threw my rubber chicken at it, but then my monitor fell off the desk and broke.

Um, yeah, never played it.

try going back to an earlier saved game...maybe something got corrupted...if you're in the correct room then all you have to do is push that red button...after pushing the button the door to that radiation room will open

make sure you're in the correct room first though...look at your map and see if you're in the right spot...I think I remember having to go up a ladder and do some other walking around to get inside that room with the red button
