| Crysis 2 announced Today EA and Crytek announced Crysis 2, which will be shipping for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. No release date was mentioned... "Electronic Arts Inc. announced today that it has agreed to a deal extension with Crytek GmbH, the award-winning developers of the Crysis universe, to publish Crysis 2. Renowned for their technical excellence, artistic craftsmanship and commitment to quality, Crytek is building Crysis 2 on their new state-of-the-art multiplatform game development solution CryENGINE 3 for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, the PLAYSTATION3 computer entertainment system, and the PC. “The development of Crysis 2 marks a major stepping stone for our studio,” said Cevat Yerli, CEO and President of Crytek. “This is not only the next game in the Crysis franchise, it’s the first title we are developing for consoles and the first title being built on CryENGINE 3. We are excited to have the support of EA Partners again as we work together to make the launch of Crysis 2 a huge event.”

| definitely won't be cutting edge graphics but it won't require crazy system requirements either...I think the guys at Crytek are really good programmers and the game will still look amazing...I don't see any PC control issues...I'm glad they actually relaxed a bit on the horsepower because nearly 2 years after the game came out most people still cannot max out the graphics on Crysis

| Re: Crysis 2 announced true, I recently played Crysis:WarHead and ran it without AA and knocked the post-processing down a notch. Looks fantastic in widescreen. Maybe they will build some really innovative AI... somehow

| Re: Crysis 2 announced It will still look good......they do have good programmers..... But I sure wish they'd build a little more open ended play into it----and some choice/decision making......weapons, armor, missions....At least they have BIG maps!! Unfortunately----for me----after you play STALKER a bit----and learn to put up with the quirks and bugs.....and learn the interface..... Nothing else really compares except possibly Deus Ex..... Crysis was a great game though----and so was War Head. I just finished FEAR 2 on Hard and while it really was a very restrictive corridoor shooter----the combat was intense and quite fun. That game could be sooooo much more though.....big maps and wide open play, decision making, faction joining, weapon adjustments and additions, Bio modifications, skullduggery..... The list of possible improvements is long. The actual FEAR 2 story line would easily fit that sort of wide open---decision making play.... I was sad the female Lieutenant bought the farm in the end.... I took a liking to her little comments throught the game.... Almost as bad as when Hawk bought the farm in Soldier of Fortune. I get so attached to my charecters.........
