| Bugs I absolutely LOVE this game----best shooter in years..... but it does have it's little "issues" I got a mission to kill the Duty Squad in the farms next to the Army Warehouses... I nailed them all----then spent the next hour roaming around waiting for my PDA to recognize that I had eliminated the squad..... It never did-----got tired of waiting around and went and found the Bullpup.... This is the second little 'glitch" I've run into----I never was able to talk to Sacharov in Yantar as the door would not open to the bunker-----and now this one..... If they could polish up the bugs a bit.....

So I restored to a previous save. Then I couldnt decide which faction I wanted to be aligned with, since they both (freedom/duty) have issues, so in the end I decided to leave them both alone. heh. I did detonate the explosives near the wall tho and I sent freedom off to the farmhouse, I just didnt go myself. Hope I havent broken it...

| On my way North Got Money, Got Ammo-----Lots...... Now have excellent firepower Am heading NORTH! This game has sooooo many twists...... Headed back to General Vronin with the BullPup.... But evidently----because I had eliminated a Duty Squad near the Warehouses-----Now I am an enemy..... What the heck----dedided to try to get it to him anyway----fought my way all the way to Vronin's bunker----no dice.... Now I am surrounded in his bunker-----had to use the BullPup to fight my way out....Used up all the Ammo from it just to get into the Bar and do a little trading..... Then I decided to go visit Sacharov again and see if this time he'd talk to me.... Fought my way through the Mercs again and got to his bunker----only to have it locked again..... Backed up----dropped a grenade by the door----and lo and behold----Zap's trick worked and the bunker door swings open freely---and I finally finish the x-16 mission and get paid!!! I do a little trading----walk out of the bunker and here comes a squad of 5 Duty boys right at me!!! And they are NOT happy!! Fight my way through them----then through the mercs AGAIN----and finally move back towards the warehouses and the "border". Where I basically started 4 hours ago.... Phew----what a game!!! and what a night!!----I'm exhausted! I haven't had this much fun in a while!!!

| Only played (and i really just played around) this game for about half an hour and i'm very impressed. I always liked FPS games, but i can get bored very fast if there's not enough story behind it, lame puzzles to solve, repetitive levels, no chances to advance your cahracter etc. (that's why i liked System Shock, Half Life and Deus Ex (the first one) so much). Always tried some RPG games, but never really got into it. Now S.T.A.L.K.E.R. seems to be combining best elements of both game types for me. Can't wait to finish F.E.A.R and DOOM III so i can really get into S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Greetings Dru P.S.: Got the pseudo-dogs tail, but wasn't able to trade it. Any idea what i might have done wrong?

| You probably didn't get the right pseudodog tail but just a dog tail, which is not what the quest requires. The pseudodog is found at the tunnel east of the car park you clean of bandits. You can sell the normal dog tails to other stalkers and IRC to the barkeeper.

| Ditto - for once I am not bored after an hour or so of playing. I installed SH4 also at the same time, and between the both of them I am entertained to say the least. I just got finished with Hitman BM - boring!!! What's even more exciting is the fact that my relic 875PBZ runs them great at med-high settings.

| Oh, very definitely in a good way. I feel like I'm part of the game, which is the sign that I'm genuinely connected with it. Kind of odd that this is so, considering that I don't speak Russian. Even odder still that all those guys around me speaking in a language that I don't understand makes me feel "part" of the atmosphere. Anyone think it's strange that there are no women in the game? That may be a cultural thing, but it surprises me a bit that there are no female stalkers.

| Huh!?! They speak Russian in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.? Are you sure you don't have the foreign language edition of the game? (I've got to finish Dark Messiah and get S.T.A.L.K.E.R. installed) ![]() __________________ Visit and chat with the Buds at the #ABxZone channel on EFnet Internet Relay Chat If you don't have it then download mIRC from www.mIRC.com |

| All the "ambient" NPC's speak Russian. The necessary conversations are all in English. Good voice work, too. I saw something that astounded me in the game today. I had failed a mission to protect a stalker warehouse from bandits. I happened upon the bandit attack as I was returning to the trader to claim a reward. I capped several of them as I approached from the rear but the numbers were too much. I worked my way around the brick wall outside the warehouse intending to join up with the trapped stalkers at the building's front. As I crept in it was apparent that all the stalkers had been killed. I heard one fellow moaning from several feet away. I moved in and towards him with the intent of giving him a medpack when I saw several bandits entering the warehouse from the rear. My PDA started counting off more than I could handle and I silently retreated back to safety. I peered around the warehouse door to see what would happen. The lead bandit walked up to the wounded stalker and said something to him in Russian. The stalker replied, then the bandit executed him, just shot him right there. It was one of those transcendent moments that made me feel like I was really part of the game. Very cool.
