I've just entered x16 lab for the first time...this game is moving up my all time favorite games list pretty quickly...

my favorite weapon of the game so far is the TRs 301 machine gun...I also found a mounted Susat Scope to put on it along with a grenade launcher...this gun is amazing!!!...the gun is great as a long range sniper as well and is very accurate...1 shot headkills are my specialty now using the scope

for up close kills I like the chaser 13 shotgun

the sky rendering in this game is the best ever...looks so realistic

The sky changes with time. You can watch the sun go down.

What about the Rapid Fire AKm? Did you find it?

Did you find Gordon?

yeah the Fast Shooting Akm (with the mounted scope) was my favorite weapon until I found the TRs 301...the TRs 301 has perfect accuracy...I can do a lot of kills now with just 1 bullet headshots

the fast shooting Akm I found in Strelok's stash and was using it as my main weapon until recently

I also just purchased the SEVA suit from Professor Sakharov...I was using a modified SSP-99M Ecologist suit (which I got for completing a side quest) until I got the SEVA one...but I'm not sure which is the best suit to use between those 2...I'm gonna keep both of them...the SSP-99M suit is worth 90,000 while the SEVA is worth 40,000 but I think the SEVA suit might be better overall

Gordon?...you mean Gordon Freeman?...I heard rumors that there was an easter egg like that in the game...can you really meet him in the game?...and where, which level?

time to head on back to Cordon to meet with the Guide...

Did you find a GP37 yet? More damage than the 301 and fires more rounds per minute than the 301.

It never mattered to me which suit I wore unless I needed radiation protection. I relied on the natural healing properties of the Zone for health and artifacts for endurance and durability.

Yep. Go see Gordon. You'll bump into him when you do the "Family Rifle" job.

I'm not too far from there...I'm on 23rd Street on the East Side...how long were you in NYC for?

havn't found any GP37's yet...

you're right that the suit does not really matter as much if you have good artifacts on you...but I still prefer to have a nice suit in addition to the artifacts

as far as the "Family Rifle" job...I've had that in my Tasks for a long time now...I got the mission from some guy in the Bar...but I'm having trouble completing the mission...I went to the exact spot on the Map in Yantar where the rifle was supposed to be but could not find it anywhere...I looked all over the place...I was right in the middle of the little yellow circle on the mini-map and could not find anything

the task does not seem to run out of time like most of the other side missions do so I'm thinking maybe the task cannot be completed until I finish another mission first

I hope I didn't kill Gordon...I usually clear out the entire area when I spot any enemies

Born and raised at 77 Madison St. and I left there at age 18 to join the Navy and avoid the draft (Vietnam Era). Been back a couple of times - but its been awhile. I really miss NYC. I dream of hitting the lottery and finding a place on Central Park East or South. I dream big.

I need a picture (digital) of my old tenement so I can do a montage along with my current home in So. Cal. I'll pay expenses. A simple vertical shot would do. Cross street is Catherine. Interested? I would be very grateful. I am in no rush whatsoever.

I cannot tell you how much I sincerely appreciate that. No rush. Buying you lunch is cheaper than an air ticket. Thank you.

FWIW: I learned to swim at some public outdoor pool which was located on E23rd next to the river. Not too far from where I was born - Bellevue.

Thanks again

Jim

PS - I just left X18 again and I am on my way back to the Barkeeper. I'll take a break before I proceed any further.

I used to swim at that pool as well when I was younger--I believe it is a public pool and admission is free...it's part of a YMCA type of facility...that pool is a few blocks from my apartment...the pool is still there and they also renovated that facility...Bellevue Hospital is also still there and has also recently undergone a major renovation--looks much nicer now

as far as the pics---I'm not an expert photographer and don't have access to a really high end camera so I'm not sure if the quality is going to be that great

Don't miss the visit to Lab X17. But before you go and get all the goodies available at Lab X17, make sure you first visit Lab X11 and Lab X12 or you will not be able to locate Lab X17. After your visit to Lab X17, you will then receive the secret code and location to Lab XXX69.
