What monitor are you going to get and whats its resolution? If its 1920x1080 or higher and you want to play the latest games at the monitors native resolution on high settings you will need a 5870 or go SLI or Crossfire. The latter 2 choices would mean going with a X58 i7 board that supports SLI and Crossfire at 16x. Or building a AMD/Crossfire or Core 2/SLI system. If you are going to run 1680x1050 or 1440x900 what you are planning on building should do fine.

I can run Crysis on medium/high settings at 1440x900 on the rig in my sig and its totally playable. Crysis is one of if not the most demanding game out.

Most LCD monitors I have seen lately come with both sub D and DVI cables. Use DVI if you have the choice.

Re: Help me decide what does everyone think for gaming

That is a tough choice as both will do the job fine.

A has Realtek sound going for it and a bigger HDD.
B has bigger PSU. Its also a ATX board not micro ATX like A.

In the end you need to decide which is more important to you.
I wish people could comment on the VIA onboard sound Asus
is using on most of their boards these days.

What have you got for a system now? You could build a Core2 Quad or AMD system for less money and still get a great gaming platform. I would guess you could get everything for less than 800.

Re: Help me decide what does everyone think for gaming

B

Tad more----but you get what you pay for....Asus board, bigger faster HD etc

Wonder is right----put the card reader in AFTER you have installed the software-----totally less problematic in the long run---I have seen card readers totally hose OS installs by assigning CRAZY drive letters so you wind up with your HDD as the D or F drive (not good)

I don't think you will have any problems with the Via sound as I have a couple of Via Envy 24 sound cards that are just fine and dandy----quite good actually.
