NFS Shift - September '09

Trailer:
Trailer: NFS Shift - Xbox Live's Major Nelson

Personally, I've hated every NFS after High Stakes. Lets see if this one makes me change my opinion.

Re: NFS Shift - September '09

Here are the ones I liked:

Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit
Need for Speed: High Stakes
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2
Need for Speed: Most Wanted

I haven't tried the others or I didn't like them. I think NFS 3 was my favorite. They need to bring back something like hot pursuit. Getting chased by the cops is what the game should be about.

I downloaded quite a few additional vehicles for NFS 3. One of them looked like 4 giant marshmellows going down the road. It hit about 250 and nothing could stop it. Now you got me wanting to install and play it.

I liked High Stakes because the tracks were unique, and they also threw in tracks from NFS 3 updated to the newer graphics. The Porsche Unleashed factory driver mode was also very nice.

Ever since they started basing them off of the Fast and Furious movies with the girls and the storyline, they've been sucking hardcore.

If I buy a racing game, I expect exotic tracks, good music and a good career mode. I don't wanna be driving around a city picking fights with gangs.

High Stakes also had an awesome damage system that added that extra realism to the game. They got rid of damage after Hot Pursuit 2 I think ... what's the point?

Thanks for hearing my rant. And yes, I feel like playing NFS High Stakes now, but that is an impossibility cuz' they never made a version for OS X.

I too enjoyed the earlier NFS games but the last few---Pro Street and Undercover were awful...the last really great one was Most Wanted...I even enjoyed Carbon...hopefully they can get the series back on track ()with Shift

with the last game,NFS Undercover, they tried adding in a bit of realistic car damaging and tried making it more of a Sim rather then arcade game but it failed miserably...they need to go back and focus on what they do best

NFS: Shift has been getting good reviews...might be the best NFS game in a few years...the last few games in the series have been a bit underwheling but apparently this game is a return to form...less arcady and more sim-like but still an arcade racer at heart...if I hadn't recently bought GRID I would have bought Shift
