FWIW, This is my first MMORPG too. It's a great game! I do the prepay for 3 months option, which is a couple bucks cheaper. They ask for credit card info when you register, but they do not charge anything until after the first month.

We do have some concern that the server Lightbringer may be a little "laggy". It had some problems yesterday afternoon when I was playing, but by evening, it was fine again.

Are there any suggestions or good way to pick a new server?

It's 4 CD's, so no. Can't download it (AFAIK).

I just got the game yesterday, although I'm not an active poster, I read everyone else's messages almost everyday. I'm a very active Warcraft III player (mostly dota). I'd like to join up with you guys, if it's ok. Any suggestions on a hero that would help the guild? Let me know

Welcome! As for what class, pick the one that sounds like the most fun to you to play. That's what matters.

Why don't we get started on lightbringer CJ and if the lag is too bad we can move enmass...many of the servers , if not most, have some lag...it's a common complaint and one that's being worked on. If some one knows of a lag-free server , PLEASE pipe up! Blizzard NEVER expected the response they got on the initial sales. They have, in fact, stopped selling WOW until the issues are solved or more servers are brought online I believe. I do know that it is VERY hard to find a copy anywhere.

edit:..Oh, and why not keep "The ABX Fellowship" or just "ABX Fellowship" as the name...IMO it's a winner!

You may want to check out Guild Wars when it comes out I believe in either March or April. It is a MMORPG but it has no monthly fee which will be nice.
Guild Wars If you preorder the game once a month uptil the game is released they open up the servers for a beta weekend which is pretty fun. I did one last E3 and was pretty impressed with the game. The Graphics are pretty good and I like the idea of this game since it doesn't require you to be online every waking minute of the day. Next Beta weekend is Feb. 18th and I'm looking forward to it. Also depending on where you preorder the game from you will get a special Item on the onset of when the game is launched, as well as reserving your character's name that you created on the Beta weekends.

The Cenarion Circle server that I've been playing on has had very few problems in the past and only has medium population. But that could change, so I say we just stick with Lightbringer.
