Flippin AWESOME! Did you see the size of those maps? Wow... and was that bullet time they've implemented? Outstanding... I am hanging out for this next installment...

the graphics look the same as Clear Sky so hopefully their main focus with this game was gameplay changes...the graphics looked amazing with Clear Sky so that part is fine...hopefully the changes they listed in post #30 of this thread all were implemented into the game as most of them sound really good...the ability to continue the game after completion in freeplay mode sounds really nice

one thing that bugged me about Clear Sky is the number of recycled areas from SoC...there were only 3-4 new levels...I heard that the new game does not recycle areas so that alone should be a big improvement...hopefully they can recapture the atmosphere from SoC as well and not need 5-6 patches to get the game 100% stable...looking forward to this game

it was announced today that Call of Pripyat will have DX11 support...whether that means native DX11 support or a future patch that adds DX11 remains to be seen

Re: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.:Call of Pripyat

The trailers we're seeing are awesome, especially the size of the levels and the detail... wow- cant wait to get into it...

Its funny how the maps are looking more and more like a post warzone... with damaged bulidings and stuff lying around at all angles and so on... I guess when the military went in they went a bit overboard...

I just hope there is a lot more emphasis on eerie levels including an interesting story and secrets to uncover... (the plot thats been revealed is basic but I dont mind as long as its done well)... and smart shooter action of course... hope the rpg elements have been polished up.

The idea that once the game is completed the player can continue on somehow is very interesting... one of the problems with the earlier games is that once you've played them through a few times the campaign gets a bit old...

you definitely need a newer card but you don't necessarily have to go with W7 as Vista will also support DX11

And somebody please tell me (maybe again) why DX11 can't be simply a firmware upgrade to my DX10.5 card or some other software solution?

answer= $$$$$

firmware upgrades do not make $$ for the video card companies...they want you you to buy new cards

fantastic news...Call of Pripyat has officially been declared "GOLD"

the game should be available worldwide in the first half of October!!

normally official game release dates are announced months in advance...this is just a few weeks away...very cool!...hopefully the game lives up to the hype...judging by the trailers it looks like the creepy atmosphere that was so well done in the original might be back in CoP
