Two Monitors Question

Hello All,

I haven't posted in forever, but I'm the same Bridaddy thats been folding since '04 for good ole 1714..

Anyways, I had a question regarding gaming and two monitors, and I think this is the place to ask. I have two accounts in a game called Eve, I'm sure some of you have heard about it (espically after seeing the sticky). I currently have two monitors (20.1 LCD), trying to run an account on each, but performance isn't where I'd like. Its playable, just isn't smooth.

I was considering getting a newer video card (Currently have an 1950 Pro with 512MB) and wanted some opinions. Seems like people don't like the 2900XT so much, and Nvidia seems expensive. Any ideas you could offer would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Bridaddy!

A few more infos regading the specs of your rig would help. Are you on AGP or PCi-E? What motherboard, processor and RAM are you using?

Greetings

Dru

I suppose that would have been a help

Its a fairly cheap Mobo (would also need recommendations on upgrading that), a C2D 2.13Ghz with 1gb of DDR2 533. I was thinking about getting a quad core with a Mobo that would let you unlock the processor down, and get some fast DDR2, any ideas on this as well? Also its a PCI-E Unit.

I suppose a better question is starting with a brand-new rig, what would you recommend for my gaming setup, without going insane on the price.

Thanks

Well, from all what i've been reading here i'd suggest to invest some money in a new video-card and some fast RAM. That should do the trick imho.

Greetings

"Great," says Peter. "You get to cruise around heaven in a Mercedes. And you, how many times did you cheat on your wife?"

"Only twice, I think," says the second guy.

"Okay. You get to cruise around heaven in a Cadillac. And you, how many times did you cheat on your wife?"

"12 times. Maybe 13," says the third guy.

"Okay," says Peter. "You get a rusty Ford."

Later that day, the guy in the Cadillac sees the guy in the Mercedes crying.

"What's wrong?"

"I just saw my wife."

"So?"

"She was riding a skateboard."
