Kaz Why don't you use VNC? You are on a network right?

IOGear's KVM are very good. I have this one:

Regarding the shortcut file, if no quotes work then try this in the target text field:
"C:\My Documents\Downloads\Folding Monitor\FAH3Console.exe" -advmethods -forceasm
and this in the Start in text field:
"C:\My Documents\Downloads\Folding Monitor"

Click on the Apply button. If you get an error message, let me know what it is.

Do you need 98se on that box? If not, install Linux and rebooting should be a thing of the past.

I've been using the -advmethod(sp?) for quite some time and haven't got a gromac yet! What's up with that?!

The -forceasm did shave 10-20 seconds off a frame on some of the 400 framers when I added it a week or so aga.

Kaz, you reboot 98SE everyother day? Try once a week, like every Sunday nite or something. I used to do a defrag and reboot every Sunday. I don't have any issues doing only once a week or so, sometimes longer if I'm not tinkering with hardware.

They just started last night. Best thing to do is when you get done with an WU, download a new one. If it's not Gromac, go back and check your settings. Pretty much, keep messing around with it until you get that first one. Once you do, you know you are good to go. Just keep checking the protein and if its not delete it and get another one.

Try it this way Michael...browse the the folder that has the folding....right click on the red gear and drag it to the desktop...create a shortcut - not copy.

Then go to the new short cut and right click...edit the path to include -advmethods -forceasm...try it with and without the quotes...

Or another way...download the monitor - direct the monitor to the folder and point it to the red gear - include the switches in the same screen you add the path to the box.
You can use monitor to start the folding and it will use the switches.

OK, here's another possible solution to all of this.
1) Create the directory FAH at the root level-i.e. C:\FAH.
2) Copy all your files from the directory C:\My Documents\Downloads\Folding Monitor to C:\FAH.
3) Download the shortcut link I have provide originally to your Desktop. Here's the link for ya: the Shortcut Link File.
4) You should then see a red gear short cut icon on your desktop.

I suspect that something in your system configuration is not allowing for spaces in the path. By following the above steps you will have rid yourself of the spaces. BTW: Make sure that you are not folding when you copy the files to C:\FAH. Also, make sure you are copying instead of moving. If a power failure or some other change thing should occur, you will not lost the wu you are currently working.

Okay, think I got it.

When I fire up the console "Arguments: -advmethods -forceasm" are the first words to appear, then the name and team stuff.

Im at 310 frames of a 632, so it will be awhile before I see if its working.

I`m confused.. how can you see if you`re getting the Gromacs ?
I`ve been using the switches with quotes (didn`t work without them) on the regular client since it was posted here.
The only thing changed is that i`m now getting HUGE WUs of 2000/6000 completion points.
Are these Gromacs ?
