Question double gromacs

I cant seem to find much info on double gromacs. Is there another switch that you have to add or does the computer automatically pull a double gromacs WU? Just a lil confused. Thanks

Hey are you guys using the -advmethods -forcesse Flags on your clients?

The -advmethods automatically downloads the latest and greatest cores from Stanford.

Does it have any thing to do with SSE2 code in processors?

from what i know its a new core that uses more accurate calculations (ie uses doubles instead of floats) .... hence the name double gromacs and yes SSE2 procs will be better at it:

Pentium 4
Xeon
Athlon 64
Athlon 64 FX

Actually, for the point value I think that they are faster on my rig and don't heat the CPU near as much as regular Gromacs which I really like on a HOT day like today!

Too bad I don't have one right now.

Gromacs, Tinkers, Double Gromacs

G'day folks. I may not be all that welcome since I fold for OCAU, but here's my 2 cents direct from the horse's mouth (Bollocks @ OCAU, the folding guru.)

On an athlon xp, both gromacs and double gromacs will lower your folding points production, by 10-50%.

-advanced methods tries to get Gromacs before Tinkers. Do not use on an athlon xp system, but definitely use on a p4 or athlon 64 system.

On the otherhand P4's love Gromacs, they adore Double Gromacs.

If I could get Doubles all the time, I would be able to produce 3000 points + per week. Tinkers suck on a P4.

For folding athlon 64's are the most versatile, but like P4's somewhat better at Gromacs and Doubles.

Recommended settings for 64's are both advanced methods and forcesse.

P4' s - adv methods only

xp's -forceasm only.

Hope this helps.

Advance the cause!
