10x CD-RW media question.

I'm replacing my Plextor 8/4/32 with the Plextor 12/10/32. The RW speed is the reason. I rarely use R only. I mainly use RW media and with 85Gig of potential recording of images, I decided the 10x was worth it. But it appears to be very hard to locate good silver based RW media. I have become spoiled with Matsui Silver CD-RW but I can only find 4x. I need 10x that is as good as Matsui. I'm not happy with Imation and question Verbatim.

Suggestions and links please? I live approx. one hour from any good computer shops for purchasing and have found I normally can save money through the Internet.

Sorry, I realized in the early morning hours that I mispelled the name. Yes, it is Mitsui.

I found out the Kodak is one of the best.

I read that somewhere too. I wish I could remember where. Kodak is good and reliable, and Mitsui also, who makes cdrw's for other brands, the only one of which I can remember at the moment is TDK.

Taiyo Yuden is one of the other great manufacturers of CD-R/W media. It appears that Kodak, Taiyo Yuden, and Mitsui are the three really good ones. TDK used to use one of these three but have stopped and are now starting to look bad. Ritek is another good one. Here's a link you might find of interest: http://www.cd-rw.org/CD-RW_ORG_artic...08_2001_c.html

Also, the concern of TDK are at: http://cd-rw.org/forum/ under the CD-R media; topic: TDK.

Thanks for the update, pointreyes.

What is a ASPI manager? I tried to use the identifier to see where my TDK cdr's came from, but it said no ASPI manager was installed on my win98se system.

Anyone know a good place to get Kodak CD-RW's? I can't find anyone locally here.

(If we had a vendor forum, I would have asked this question there.)

Verbatim (4x-10x RW) was the only one I could find locally.. but work great. 9510i (12x8) picks up on the different RW speeds automatically (when using older 4x RWs)
