How many ASUS boards are still around ( desktops )

Years back this forum , was the heart of all the ASUS fun club ,
now looks that this place, are not full of life any more .

Lets count the ASUS boards once again ..

1 vote my vote ...
P4C800-E main 3.2 Prescott 3.4G
P4P800-E secondary 2.8C

I have not feel the need to move on

I still have and use a P4C800-Deluxe system, but on my other two systems, which I built in the last year or two with X48 and EX38 boards, I chose Gigabyte. The main reason being that the user comments posted at Newegg for the boards that were available at the time indicated a much higher percentage of trouble-free builds for the Gigabyte boards than for the Asus boards. Both of those builds were completely trouble-free for me as well.

Additional reasons were that the Gigabyte boards used TI firewire chips, rather than Via firewire chips which (at least in the past) have been known to consistently drop frames during digital video captures, and the Gigabyte boards offered PS/2 ports for both keyboard and mouse, while the Asus boards just had one PS/2 port.

most of my builds have been with ASUS boards...they are not necessarily the best boards but they are pretty stable and hassle free...although they still seem to suffer from overvolting

off the top of my head I can remember using the A8N32-SLI, P4C800-E Deluxe and Asus A7M266 (AMD 761 chipset)

My personal 2 machines are both ASUS boards, Maximus Formla's, probably one of the most stable boards I have ever used. Most of my retail builds are ASUS or Gigabyte.

On my main box, i have a 'Maximus Formula' motherboard. On my two back-up boxes, i have P4C800-E Deluxe and a P4P800 Deluxe which is for sale.

My builds were all Asus until the last 2. I considered the P5Q, but for similar reasons to those ctal expressed above, I chose Gigabyte. I have been very happy with them. No issues, good overclockers and stable. However, I have not ruled out Asus for future builds.

p.s. I still use the P4P800 and CUSL2 as test boxes and my brother is using the TUSL2C as his main PC. I'll probably give him the P4P800 to use as his main PC and start using the P5B-D as a test box. Just can't seem to part with the CUSL2...

some day when I'm looking for something to do (

) I'll get a clear case and rebuild the cusl2-c Black Pearl; it is a good looking board.

meanwhile ... the Asus X48 Rampage Formula is a fabulous board. glad I selected it.

I had a P2B board with a Pentium 2. (long in the trash)
My P4C-800E Dlx died last year. This is the board that brought me here.
I currently have a P5K Pro.

I build a bunch of machines at work last year using the P5KPL-CM. They have been good for general engineering machines.

I had also an CUSL2 complete system , sold it 7-8 years back ,
believe it or not its still alive , making radio spot recordings ,
on a local FM radio station .

I just retired my P4C800E-Deluxe. The AGP video card (Gainward 6800GT) fan went and the hard drive died. Still running strong on my A8N32-Deluxe w/ X2 3800+ Thanks to a new hard drive and a 9800 GT. Love Asus boards!
