It's time to move on...

...to a different job. I'm going to be in the AF still. The work I'll be doing is different though. I'll start my training on Nov. 30th. The career field name is Cyber Transport Systems Specialist. You can read about it here:

Cyber Transport Systems - Enlisted Careers - AirForce.com

Or here:

Air Force Enlisted Jobs, AFSC 3D1X2, Cyber Transport

Re: It's time to move on...

I know the description could be put into simpler terms. In simple terms, I'll be maintaining the base network infrastructure. That includes secure and unsecure stuff. I'll have to get a higher lever security clearance.

My brother does the same job. He has also recieved a couple other certifications related to the job. I know the tests were at least $100 each.

I must say that I will miss working on aircraft a little bit. I enjoyed it at first but it has gone downhill a lot. The manning cutbacks has put a lot of stress on the ones that still do the work. It doesn't help that the flying hours have not dropped because the pilots need to keep up with their certs. The fighter world is the worst because they have to keep their weapons training up to date.
