I agree with Spooky, it was interesting at first but sort of lost its originality fast. I went to see it because of several favorable mentions in this thread but except for a couple of interesting parts/bits, it wasn't that great.

Ray!

Just got back from seeing Ray.. Wow Jamie Foxx gave a performance of a life time. I was a big fan since the old days, but I must admit, he a a very talented man. Not many people can sing, dance, act, play instruments, and has the gift of humor. I totally expect him to get an Oscar for this performance.

way up!

'kill bill vol.2"

I don't even bother after that ABSURD first part, but I guess I'm standing in the rain with my opionion here....

Started to watch "Band of brothers" as recommend here...

Well, you know seeing German soldiers running away screaming....very redicoulus. How could they have captured almost half of the world the those soldiers. Give me a break. I'm not a nazi but stay real.
I would say the big turnaround for the allies was not the cleverness or braveness or whatever but knowing what the enemy does next by capturing the enigma machines.

Plus even the oldest Grandma fought against the allies (yeah it needed 4 nations to defeat German forces) until death to hold Berlin.

Shooting soldiers in the back - a very brave act or soldiers that surrendered.

I'm not sure if I wil con't watching this series..as it seems to be the usual war heroism.

As someone born in Germany I highly recommend importing movies about tthis time made by German movie productions.

What you get served in the US is ALWAYS Hollywood food (well, in this case it was HBO, shameful).

Just my .02 cents.

I just watched The Day the Earth Stood Still again. I picked up the DVD when I caught it on sale at Best Buy a while back.

There's a reason why its a classic!
