After I talked a bit about being so impressed recently by The Grapes of Wrath as I just read (listened to the "book on tape" of it), I decided to watch the movie.

It's an old "classic" movie done around the 1940s. Back when (I thought) they tried to stay closer to the true stories (books). -- NOT!

What a hack job. It was horrible. They ruined the story. Lost all emotion, deleted major scenes and characters totally, rearranged the story line, reworded an important part of Ma's important speech at the end, and most importantly gave a different ending. The book ending was much more melo-dramatic than the movie ending.

I hated it!

I hear nothing but good stuff from that movie, gonna go try to see it this weekend...doesn't surprise me about Lewis, he's a hardcore method actor---and awesome at it...

saw gangs of new york two days ago. i thought it was a strange, but good film. and yes, it was one of the most violent films i'd ever seen.

XXX is good action. Don't expect plot or realism, but it's one of the best action movies I've seen in a while.
