| Re: yeah, whatever.... Try the SSD drives, it will speed up the OS, games, and is silent. I'm running OCZ SSD's, 3x120gig in RAID-O 600+writes and 700+reads.

| Re: yeah, whatever.... yeah, that's why i'm getting just one and a small one (60-128gb). it will be a test drive. i'll install whatever game i'm playing at the time (1-2) and use it as the drive to record fraps clips onto (so that should be really good) i don't expect to fully migrate from spin drives for at least 3-5 years. (unless serious and proven breakthroughs happen including radical price drops) i'll just keep replacing the one sdd with better/faster/larger ones over time. plus the defrag business is hard on me mentally. it's hard to resist not trying to defrag a drive. |

| Re: yeah, whatever.... I've been riding on the technology edge for awhile now. But I may back off for a time. I'm not one bit disappointed with my SSD's. In fact its been interesting as an early adopter of SSD.... ![]()

| Re: yeah, whatever.... There's not really a valid point to completely getting rid of spin drives, in my opinion, they are the cheapest. I have a 1Tb drive as secondary which hosts all my media, documents and whatnot. I see absolutely no need to get an increase in speed for that drive... except if I need to format and transfer all my files. That'll take a while lol |
