Question hang on restart

I just recently upgraded my system.
i'm using the Cusl2-c black pearl. It's a great board and recognized all my hardware immediately.

I'm currently running WinME. Every time I try to do a restart the
system hangs. when I do a normal shutdowm every thing works well.

Any ideas?

At exactly what phase of the restart does it hang? What is displayed on the screen when it hangs. If the screen is blank, what was the last thing displayed on the screen before it went blank?

Hi Dave-welcome to the forum!

I looked at your profile but you don`t mention a soundcard,I suppose you have a SB live.
That problem is caused by an IRQ conflict even if at Device Manager you don`t see any explanation mark.Check about having another than VGA card at IRQ 11 or if SB takes IRQ 9.
SB can be run ok at IRQ 3 or 5 or 7 but 5 is the best setting.
Try a different release of bios (better 1006final) and have the defaults loaded. If problem is fixed then customize settings.
Try to free some unused ports at bios as serial port and/or configuring LPT in another type, that leads to free an IRQ so windows will reassign IRQs (if Plug & Play OS is set to NO).

At the attachments there is my table of IRQs under WinME.
