Can't you just run the ME upgrade disk and insert the qualifying disk when asked?
You can with 98 upgrade!

Lightbulb no, actually

I've tried a couple "RE-clean" installs, from an OEM_disk and WinME insists on keeping around what it thinks is important. Actually that's worked out well in my case ... but seems not in yours.

I think you should be able to boot off a DOS disk (you'll need CDROM support, obviously) and start the install from the command line. You'll need to provide the qualifying upgrade disk during installation.

Endaar
