| I don't believe that is the case for windows ME. Unlike windows 98, windows ME loads scandisk AFTER loading part of the opperating system. It doesn't run any start-up items, or "run" or "runservice" items until after completing the windows-based scandisk. Then, "the rest" of windows s loaded and you see your desktop. |

| Professor Frink, I thought all 9x OSs ran scandisk the same, you may be right! I'll need to check it-out.

| Professor Frink is right, Windows ME will load part of the os then run scandisk. Only then will it load all the other startup items. |
