shadows

I’m playing with win 98 and found this wallpaper, but it left shadows on the icons.

After I installed it is there a way get them off. In win98

I am assuming you are talking about the color around the text. If so, right click on the desktop-->click properties-->click the desktop tab. If I remember right, there should be something in the lower right corner that allows you to change the color. I know that's where it is in XP but I think all Win OSs have it in the same spot.

I think that is what happens when you have Active Desktop enabled. Turn that off in Display Properties and the shadows should go.

close but, that will change the color. I'm trying to get rid of the shadows

all together like in xp

That’s cool had a ugly yellow color I put all zeros in the box, change it black

Thanks I'm just screwing around with this 98 box. It was my first computer I purchase. And when xp came out I wanted to update but the people @ compuk

Said nooooooo can’t do that and since I learn a little I decided to put it back to Compaq win 98S cant screw around to much or will screw it up.
