Angry WIN 98 registries corrupt?

Hello

After much poking and proding I finally got this board(cusl2cb)tweaked to what I consider to be excellent condition.
Last night I purchased a new case(from cirotech)and trasnfered everything to this new case...........NOTHING WORKED!
Well, not nothing, but I am back to the same spot as before, chasing SB live, finding the modem, and it does not recognize either of my cd roms(secondary IDE controller(dual fifo) not working properly.
With the cd roms not working,I tried to download the drivers from intel and as soon as they start installing,I get the"corrupt registeries"(HKLM\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Setup key registry is corrupt!)...................any help here?
I am not concerned with the soundblaster problem at the moment, seriously considering buying a Turtle Beach and chucking this thing in a backup computer I am building, but thats another thread!

Thanks!
Darkstar

Transferring all of the same components into a new case should not create any of these troubles unless you changed which slots you had your PCI cards plugged into or if something isn't connected correctly. Double check all the wiring and cables especially the IDE cables.

It SOUNDS like the OS became corrupted during the xfer. The registry is showing you errors. It is "Possible" that it can be resolved with a clean install of windows. I had a similar issue once & that solved my problem.

Hello

Check all connections, and have you tried Regedit to see if it helps with the registry....

Good Luck

Try SCANREGW from the Windows Run box, or SCANREG from DOS. Should give you an option to load a previous version, or repair it.

Memory problems can create that error too. May have gotten knocked about during the transfer. Reseating it might help.

Those registry error messages can be brutal since they can be associated with just about anything. Hope it doesn't crop up again though.

You can learn a lot about computers.. when they don't work. Special thanks should really go to ASUS.. and their P3V133.
