If you have a full retail or oem version of Me it may be bootable. Mine is not but I have seen ones that are. You need to set the boot order in your bios to enable booting from a floppy or cdrom if not already. I set mine. First boot device = floppy Second = cdrom third = Hard drive Which file did you down load from bootdisk.com? I down loaded the Me boot disk from the windows Me link not one of the alternative ones and had no problem making the boot disk. Can you give more info? I myself use a custom win98se boot disk for all 9x-Me installs or disk preparation. PM me if you like and I'll email it to you.

| I use the OEM one and the alt1, alt2 none of them worked. What I had to do was installing 98 and then upgrade to ME. I know there’s has to be an easier way. When I was installing ME .it offer to make a boot disk hopefully if I have to do it again I will have the right disk. What will that boot disk do? Will the cd boot or will I have try and manually install it. Do you do d:\setup to get it going.?

Can you now make a boot floppy off bootdisk.com? I have never had good luck upgrading any version of windows. It works but some strange things can happen. It's just not a clean install. Once booted to a floppy with cdrom support change directory to your cd drive. Then type setup then hit enter. Note: the boot disk will take a drive letter bumping your cd drive up one letter. So if your cd drive was D it will be E.
