Previously I have seen a fix posted here for problems rebooting under Win98SE (the system hangs) once SB Live 5.1 components are loaded. I cannot locate the original thread. It had something to do with switching something off or on in the Bios.

Can anyone help?

I guess if you mean:

- Disabling USB legacy support in BIOS-worked for some, not for me; not SBLive! related, or
- Making SBLive! share IRQ7 with LPT-find a check box in the SB16 emulation device entry in Control Panel->Device Manager->Creative Misc. Devices

... I missed an important one:

- Setting Plug&Play OS to NO works too (the BIOS, and not the OS, will assign IRQ resources).

Those are the biggies - also make sure when you install the sofware you allow it to update the drivers...

I just got mine to reboot & shut down to DOS on Fri, w/ SBlive before it would not. went to device manager & Creative mislainous properties and just DISABLED SB16 emulation, now all works great! & sound is still good.
