Win98 SE - Start button

Hello All....

I may be imagining things, but when I click on my Start button, and I move to Programs or Documents or Settings or anything that has sub-menus. It seems as though it takes a long time for the sub-menus to show up. When i click on them they do appear. I am writing this from work and have tried it here, the sub-menus pop right up.

Any Ideas

Thanks

Download and install TweakUI
You can adjust menu speed within this utility.

maybe u can try this:

go to start/run/ type regedit

and browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

then right click on the right hand side and select new/ String Value
and type MenuShowDelay modify it to 0 and reboot...

it sure works for me

remember to back up the registry first b4 modifying it.

Your welcome!
Always enjoyed ringing bells!

The question begging to be ask is why did you slow it down in the first place?

there's one thing i dont like bout tweakui, it loads when the os boots and slows the boot up a bit, but it does feature some useful tweaks.

anyway, it depends on the user itself..

You can stop it from loading with the OS by going to the start-up tab of msconfig and unchecking it.

Yes, the tweaks will hold after a reboot.
With TweakUI you are making changes to your registry as if using RegEdit. Only easier.
