Win98/XP in same machine

......I am installing a new H/D with Win98 in a system that has a H/D with windows XP already in it. I need to get a couple files off the H/D w/XP. If I connect both H/D's, 98 as master and the XP as slave, is it possible to browse the slave when I am in 98?.........

As long as the XP drive is a basic disk that is formatted with FAT16 or FAT32, it shouldn't be a problem. If it's dynamic or formatted with NTFS, 98 will not be able to read it. Of course, if the XP drive is bootable, there's no reason you couldn't boot into XP and copy the files from there to the 98 drive.

it doesnt matter which drive you set master / slave

you can change the boot option in the BIOS

if you just wanna copy files from XP to 98, no problem. just do it in XP like Endarr says

if you are always using common files on both the XP partitions as well as the win98 ones, then its best to use FAT32 OR just keep the files in a FAT32 partition
