Windows ME Shut Down Issue

Can not seem to get my machine to shut down.
Does anybody know of a fix?

There have been many people experiencing shutdown problems and what seems to be many different causes. For me, a USB mouse was creating the trouble. As soon as I removed it my problem went away. Have you got any USB devices?

So I just moved the nic to another slot.
