I'm having a problem with my WinME and my network card. I got a CUSL2-C motherboard. My network card, video card and a couple of other cards are all sharing IRQ #11, which I don't understand. And I can't reboot my system. Every time I try to restart WinME, the system hangs. I formatted my harddrive and reinstalled WinME for a couple of times, and each time I got different problems. Sometimes I could restart the system but couldn't shut it down. Once I disabled my network card, that problem was solved. And when I run the system for the first time, I think I'm supposed to see the WinME welcome multimedia or something like that, but with this motherboard I never see that. My screen's just grey. Anyways, I just wonder if anyone can help me with my WinME reboot problem...

| you can manually set your irq settings ,have a look in your bios ,you have the option to set each slot......you probably have an irq conflict and thats why you have problems you may need to move your cards to different slots as well take a look here and read it all and see if this helps http://radified.com/Misc/cusl2.htm stevo

Rearranging those cards doesn't work at all; assigning IRQ's in Bios doesn't work, too.

It appears WIN ME must be set to allow the BIOS to set IRQ's .But might try : go Control Panel/Device Manager/System Devices/PCI bus/Properties/Settings/under Device Enumeration select " use BIOS"

Ok, I did what you said, and things have got a lot better. Now I got two more questions to ask: 1. How do you assign an IRQ to Creative SB16 Emulation? I do have one IRQ released for Creative SB16 Emulation, but I just have no clue how I'm supposed to assign the IRQ to Creative SB16 Emulation. 2. I got two joysticks, a Logitech one and a Microsoft one. I wish to set my Logitech one as the primary joystick (ID=1). But no matter how many times I change the ID's, after the system reboots WinME always automatically sets the Microsoft one to be the primary (ID=1). Is there anyway I can set the ID of the Logitech one to be 1 and it stays at 1 even after restarting WinME?

Agree with Stevo . The word is that you only need SB16 Emulation if you need sound from a DOS program. If you are running WIN ME, I dont think you are still doing that.I have it disabled. As far as the joystick problem , Can't help you there.

Do you have a Sound Blaster 5.1 card??? try turning off SB16 Emulation in you device manager, that should take care of the problem.
