Exclamation WinME Reboots after 30 seconds... again and again etc... Help!

Compaq Presario 1200
Used System Restore CD after getting boot to black screen every time.
System loaded great, installed D-Link NIC and used DSL to get all the Crit Updates loaded... used Norton SystemWorks '03 to ensure no hard drive or registry problems.
Loaded HP 1100 drivers.
Started Netscape SmartUpdate process. Received a message telling me that the WinDLL32 was not running properly and that the system needed to restart... it was one of those great "OK" buttons... now ever since the system just cycles over and over: it says something like "Setup is updating Windows, please wait' then ' Windows is finished updating" in a black screen then it loads the desktop, then restarts...
Over
and OVer
and OVER AGAIN

Help anyone?
confused

you may want to run memtest too if there is a serious problem with the memory then you may be getting file corruption as you load and write things to the HDD

Have you tried going into safe mode, and then booting up normally?

This is a trojan
look for this in your registry and delete.

Make a backup first. Remove restore first.

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Windll32 = windows>\Windll32.EXE

reboot and set back restore.
