Just got back from Walmart... I won't be doing that again next year. Apparently, they were allowing people to pick up the items and wait in line until 500AM. There were at least 150 people in line, and at 445AM, there was the same amount of people in the store as a Saturday in the afternoon.

I couldn't even get to the electronic section. They were packed in there like a can of sardines. I must have fell and bumped my head to have tried to do this.

no regrets!

I've never done this before. Compusa opened at midnight. I got there at 3:30. I got the last Hitachi 160G SATA HD for $20 after rebate. Headed over to Best Buy and stood in line from 3:45 till 5:00. I got Nero 7 Ultra free after rebate, Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 / photoshop Elements 4.0 for $50 after rebate and Call of Duty 2 for $30. I got up way early, ate up two hours of my time in line and another two hours on paperwork and about $200 of my cash is in limbo for eight weeks. It's not a perfect system but I'm not to upset. I was back home by 5:20. The trick is avoid the "sheep" items ($149 PCs, $100 digicams etc.). Don't want to do it everyday!

Heading to Circuit City right now. If I survive, I will post if I actually got that HP PSC2610 printer. $260 knocked down to $130 and then a $30 rebate on top of that and if I decided to purchase a digital camera within the next 45 days yet another $50 rebate on it for a total of $50!

Update: I got it! The line was extremely long in a downpour. My coat is soaked. Parking lot was full, full, full! There were people already in the store walking around with the printer I was looking for but fortunately I got in the store at 5:05AM and there were still 6 left. What I really like about this printer is that it's networkable, no print server needed. And my wife can finally do photocopies something that was a pain for us and yet is needed for schooling the critters. What I hated was the naive people that did not read the ads correctly, I was in line with only 10 people in front of me and had to wait 40 minutes. Two customers took 15 minutes each.

Why any human wishes to torture themselves by even showing up at any retail store on this day is beyond me.

I learned my lesson once years ago and said "never again".

after Black Friday comes...Cyber Monday...sales should take off on Monday, when consumers return to work and their fast Internet connections after the long Thanksgiving weekend

"Cyber Monday," the term coined for the Monday after Thanksgiving, comes on the heels of the busy "Black Friday"

I have never heard of black friday, but boxing day is a regular.

Last year me and my dad went out on boxing day to get him his creative mp3 player with a $30 rebate. It wasn't worth the freezing outside in line, the craziness and ontop of that the fact that he never got his rebate back.

I think on the less popular items, if they have a rebate for 1 day only your chance of getting it back is slim.
