Exclamation about the "Signature's" limit????

............i really don't want to rant about this, BUT- i have seen and they are still here a-showing ......Big, ......Long, ......and Extensive.= Sig's at the end of post's; i just went to update onto my own and change just the cpu, and i got the " you must only limit to 500.......etc" ......... ......... ....... now i felt i just got burned for this, for I HALF to change my whole Signature= when seeing others get to keep and use their LONG Sig's...(ak... like 15 to 20 something LINES { and more } long..... ); heck , i can't even go back a just re-use my old one, now......... i think that everyone should have gotten a blank Sig' off the bat, and then having to redo their own with the limit's standing.........not just for those who would come to find out just when they go to update like only 10 to 25 more increment's..........( more over, i think that 600 to 750 would have been appropriate limit for total)............if i am wrong in submitting such, my apology to you here the editor's and moderator's, but i just want to give my output of........ ...........

Too bad there isn't a grandfather clause that users registered prior to 'X' date could keep their old one.
But then, you can always list your system in your user info and use the space you've gained to promote World Peace.

Yea, I know what you mean. I need to do some hack/chopping on mine but I'm not sure what to keep and what goes yet.

Biggest problem that I have is that I can't just delete something out. If I try to do that I can't save what is left without getting the 500 limit thing.

Not to mention that it looks pretty stupid right now with the adds on the left side of the screen making all the posts soooooo narrow.

I thought about starting a poll to see what others thought should stay and what should go. Maybe I'll get around to doing that yet!

Redleg, thanks for the tip!

I'll get right on that as soon as I figure out what you just said. Hardware is my addiction -- but software to make a png (whatever that is) isn't my strong suit!

Why does everybody love long signatures? They are bandwidth wasters!! It just takes twice as long to go through threads.

What we should have is a VERY HIGH LIMIT area in the profile so you can make very big "profile" specs for more than one computer, images, etc.....

I'll be the dial-up people hate your long sigs worse than I do!

After reloading this thread a couple times I noticed that my own sig was slowing down the loading of the thread...

It's been modified now...but...the dial up gang probably has sigs turned off anyway.

As you may have noticed, the height of the reply box is dictated by the box to the left with the username, etc.
This doesn't mean fill it up with animation...
