This website has that ability. [OT]I went there quite a bit before. It turned into a place that only cared about money. There are a lot of people that left because of it. Me included.[/OT]

I think this would be a good idea. It could possibly be made into something like HDXzone. Part of ABX but not actually in the computer forums. We could call it AVXzone.

Froach and I have basically been doing an A/V forum in PMs for the last couple weeks or so! :P

I'd totally be for an Audio/Video section devoted to home theater (both normal and PCs), cameras, video cameras, TVs, DLPs, LCD TVs, etc.

Traveling to another website would not entice me to go there. If we all wanted to go to another site we could just got to an actual A/V Forum. However, the people there generally don't know as much about computers as we do and probably wouldn't be able to help out as much with HTPC problems. Remember I said generally in there, guys.

This suggestion has been approved by our Admins! Congratz Gaspar for the excellent suggestion. We will be setting up the new forum, and will start moving threads from the last few months shortly. This is a purely manual process, and each thread must be individually found and moved. So, there are practical limits to which threads will actually get moved. However, if you see a thread we have missed, feel free to let us know and we will take care of it.

Our thinking is that this forum should be used for all things A/V including home theater, and computer A/V related hardware and software questions and troubleshooting. The reason we think this is that this is a merging field, and both home theater and computer related equipment and software are coming together.

The new Forum, to be called The Audio/Video Zone, will appear under the General Computing Zone. You should see it shortly.

Glad you like the idea. I was thinking that this would be more like a filter for the new post search. You set your preferences such that a new post search woudl only search those forums you are interested in.

So if interested in AV only then you choose that forum for new post search. If you don't want to see any new posts on Intel stuff then you deselect those forums.

A customisable new post search. Nothing has to be separated from the site (like HDX) but you can see only new posts from those forums that you only wish to view.

Good to hear. Congratulations Gaspar, I'm sure you just made quite a few members, including myself, very happy.

FYI, the new forum is now there for all to use. We will shortly be moving existing threads to the new forum. Be patient, that will take some time and we will do our best to move all appropriate threads to the new forum.
