Ads I like

I just have to say that I'm thoroughly impressed with AsusBoards.com's choice of sponsors.

I usually hate internet ads, but these are truly worth clicking through.

Happy to have found this growing community!

Just wanted to say that I moved the thread to Comments & Suggestions since it's related to this web site .

The only problem with the ads is that they pay too little . Clicking helps, though, so CLICK CLICK CLICK .

I noticed today that the burn rate just shot up to 27 days from 16 days. I wonder, was this due to donations or from banners?

It seems that in general, internet ads are becoming a lost cause in terms of being a viable way to support a site. Thus, I see them more as a way to promote other quality sites and services, and maybe make a little spare change for the site on the side.

A better model for funding and covering hosting costs etc., is to have a donation drive every now and then so community members can help out. 2cpu.com has managed to cover a significant portion of costs this way.

Cheers!

The increase was due to eight different people contributing funds to help keep the site alive. I do increase the number when the advertisers pay up, but it is usually around the 20th of the month.
