I didn't think Aggemem's comment about the mods was intended to be malicious. I just didn't think it was very funny. Even if I weren't a mod, I still wouldn't have found it funny.

If anyone has an issue with a mod, send him a PM. You're more likely to get a sympathetic ear. On the other hand, starting a thread that attacks the mods is one of those knee-jerk reactions that will usually end up backfiring.

It's not because the mods take particular pleasure in closing/removing, but we do try to be conservative when considering threads that could potentially get the site into trouble.

Rest assured, though, that we constantly discuss whether such hot topics should be allowed and so continually revise our position on it as information becomes available to us on for instance court rulings and such.

A government which is not accountable to its subjects is not necessarily ineffective. It just that there's nothing preventing it from becoming ineffective.

I'm pretty sure the dude was joking. Anywho... Put out a better PR speech next time and you won't be called a fascist.

It should be part of the code of conduct for becoming a a member of any forum. Never take anything that anyone says too seriously.

There is nothing humorous in using the term “fascist.” Even giving the benefit of the doubt, such a joke is not funny. You also have the cart before the horse. The “PR speech” came after the name calling. Speaking only for this mod, I will edit or delete any future post using the term, whether intended as a joke or not.

I am closing this thread before someone says anything more that would require more direct action. I sincerely suggest that no one start a new thread that continues this discussion.
