Question Cannot delete my threads anymore-why?

I normally post a new thread and wait for a day for a response. If none, I would delete the thread-well, it appears that I don't have the right to do this. Why?

Hmmm...haven't heard that one yet. Must be something to do with the new setup.
Maybe CJ will have an answer - I'll reference this for him.

Just for info, not an isolated incident.. I can't delete my own posts either.. Not a biggie, but I don't want to hog up space if I can free it up.

Ok - we heard back from CJ on this....it looks like members can no longer delete threads.
If you want to remove a thread you'll need to notify one of the mods and we'll be happy to do it for you.

Hi guys

I have a little extra info. The change was made as a precaution.

We discussed the scenario where one angry (evil?) member could actually delete numerous valuable threads if he had himself started them.

We decided that it was better to prevent this from ever happening.

I hope it's not too inconvenient and as Ozzie said, we would be happy to help you if a thread needs to be deleted .

Could there be a way to have the delete request set-up so that when an individual wants to delete a post that there is a message area for the request and that the request is:

Code:
If no mod then send request to next mod that logs in elsif number of mod > 1 then send the request to latest mod on bbs else send request to current mod end if
Sorry, I could not find an easier way to explain it. :/

I think it would be easier if you just PM'ed one of us .

After all, the worst that could happen is that someone actually answers your question .

I first thought about reporting your own post and asking for it to be deleted, but you actually CAN'T report your own posts .

I agree with the premise...just make sure that the mods have vacant space for us to PM them

LOL

I think that one was intended for Ozzie, right? . He has a tendency to fill his folders pretty fast  .

You can always try me ... currently I have room for at least 50 requests .

WOW .

I try to keep the number below 100. That way there's plenty of room if it's needed.
