Be a lot less condescending! Try not to put words in people's mouth who disagree with you. I don't think you and I are like minded enough to converse on values!

I'll be a bit more candid - Are you going to allow the porn I see on Genmay here?

Yes or no will suffice

My focus in this thread is to introduce myself and to learn about the membership here. I am also fully aware that I have left all moderators here intact. I have stated very clearly that I intend to work on traffic and maybe freshen up the look of this place. I also want to re-examine subforums because a subforum with no posts in the past 90 days is pretty much dead in my opinion. I also think there should be a consideration and emphasis on newer technologies and concepts. For instance, overclocking, water-cooling, and case-modding create some great content, but not as much as they used to around 5 years ago. What are the new trends and discussion we should be having?

The caution I try to make to you and others is to be wary of criticizing the membership of genmay or any other forum based upon the posts you read- it is patently foolish because you have no idea who these members are. You don't know my tastes- that is a judgement you make based upon my ownership of certain assets. Genmay discusses hatred for pedophiles and has had some notable success in putting a few away, I assume you are a child molester because you don't like genmay? Silly isn't it?

We could spend hours doing this, in fact it is fun because it allows others to more quickly learn about my values.

Instead of telling me only about what you are worried about and what you don't want to see....tell me what you do want?

that makes absolutely zero sense...that's the only way you form an opinion of an online forum is by reading the posts...what other way is there??...you are not having a face to face discussion with the members, it is an ONLINE forum...meaning reading posts is the entire concept behind it

a site that has threads about gay porn means a member at that forum created that post and other members joined in the discussion...you can go to any forum and get a good feel of the type of place pretty quickly by reading their threads

instead of being so hypersensitive maybe you need to follow your own advice and become more "open minded and non-judgemental"

"I cannot do much more than log-on to a website, or plug in a new PC technically "

that statement by you in another thread says a lot about you and also about the main content of those other merged forums

a website tends to shape itself based on the attributes and interests of its owner(s)...XtremeSystems is a site about hard core overclocking and hardware because its owner is mainly interested in those things...HardOCP is a tech heavy site because Kyle is like that...and so on and so on...

You may have noticed that in the last few minutes I have removed all of my personal information.
I have been a member of ABX since the very early days of the mid-90's. I consider myself "open minded" (meaning the activities of people that are of legal adult status) but this claim of ownership of my name - and its association with otherwise "legal" activities that I may or may not not agree with - concerns me greatly.
Plus, the accusation of "close-mindedness" of otherwise respectable members also troubles me.

We're trying to resolve something here and your less-than-adult comments aren't helpful.
We only want to fully appreciate the extent of the changes that are coming about.
By the way, try using spell-check next time. Unless you're more concerned about your inseam that making a point.

Does it? You know that I am not a programmer or engineer, what other things can you tell by that? You can also tell about everyone on genmay by that? What if we had some very high profile individuals from the technology scene as members...would that make you wrong then?

My offer remains- feel free to leave. I can start at zero and begin all over again. Or maybe if I gave some of you nasty avatars it would accelerate your departure?

Stop making judgements and I will not feel obliged to teach you not to.

(brb gotta clean my pool for the kids...OMG MAYBE I HATE LAND BECAUSE MY KIDS ARE SWIMMERS)

Interesting how anyone who disagrees with the rabble-rousers is wrong. LOL- username TQ and polonyc2 seem like they will be recycled real soon.

so now I am worried about my inseam?? I am less than adult?? damn man call your momma your diaper needs a change.
What exactly are you trying to resolve?? The fact that a new owner is here? and that you are crying like a baby?? both issues are already resolved.
And don't worry about the spell check thing, I am not so anal that everything has to be perfect, as long as my point is made I am happy.

Look real close at your own post and then tell me to use spellcheck

(Unless you're more concerned about your inseam that making a point) Damn mabye the "that" was meant to be "than"??? dumbass!!!!!!!!!

LOL- why would I notice your profile changes? I don't know anything else about you other than how you are treating me and the posts you make to me.

I too am troubled at the hostility that some of you seem to bear towards other cultures and communities. I have stated what changes will be made, but I am guessing that the members who left were not like you and the ones who are negative. Hopefully we can all get along.
