| you should have researched the history of this forum before you decided to group it with genmay. you would have seen that the 2 will not attract the same types of people and the people who loved this site will not want to be associated with the filth at genmay

| Nah ABX is still my homepage. I haven't seen anything happen to make me want to leave the site.

| What can I say tam. I know I have probably given you opportunity to be "annoyed" with me, but I have to say well said and thank you for doing so. Quote:

| This site has been around for a long time. We have all contributed many hours to it, made many friends and seen it reach it's pinnacle and fall. It has become a place where the ABX "lifers" resided, stopped by, said hello and chatted. Many things have been tried in an attempt to improve the site. It is extremely obvious that some good decisions and many bad decisions were made. CJ did his best to try and improve this site, but ultimately the demands of the site exceeded the threshold he had for the site. Whether CJ betrayed everyone by selling the site or bit the bullet and sold it on because it was the right thing to do isn't really worth debating. It will get us no where. CJ was never one for wanting to get into big debates about things and bringing forth the sale of the site probably would have caused much debate. sanjay is doing his best to get things going around here. He admitted himself that the way he conveys things may not be the most "sensitive" of ways but regardless, he is communicating. He wants to do the right thing but sometimes the right thing isn't always obvious, especially when getting things flung at you left and right. Let's all grow up and work this out thinking human beings, not barbarians playing who has the bigger club. I will admit I was a bit disgruntled but ultimately sanjay doesn't want to deny you the ability to do what you were doing before. In fact, he wants you to continue having fun and doing whatever it was you did before. In addition, he would love for construtive ways to enhance the features of the forum. We need to move on folks, the way it was, was only going so far. If we want more, we have to find a way to improve on things. These **** flinging matches have to stop on both sides of the argument and we need to move on. It really isn't constructive and is only leaving a sour taste in the mouths of both sides. ABX may not be for everyone, that is why there are so many forums out there. It gives a chance for everyone to find a place to belong. If you have reached a point where you feel that ABX no longer meets your needs then behave in a respectable way and move on. This childish behaviour of deleting threads and posts is just that, childish and malicious. sanjay may have ****** you off with his words but he was never malicious against you. Yes, you created the material, the community appreciates that but when it comes down to it, the only person that is truly being hurt is that person that comes along in the hopes of finding a solution to their problem and getting nothing. I appreciate a lot of the posts that many of you have made. I learned a lot from them. All forums are privately owned out there and you are typcially free to use the resources to facilitate the exchange of ideas. This hasn't changed since CJ owned the forums. sanjay doesn't gain anything by screwing around with the usernames. That fact is he was backed into a corner and the response he gave, which, granted, was less than tactful, was just to point out the fact that he does in fact own the forum and can make any changes he sees fit. We need to face the fact that sanjay, not CJ now owns the forums, and that sanjay responds in a different manner than we are accustomed to. He tends to be quite direct and not beat around the bushes. This doesn't work for everyone and as such some people have decided to leave. The day that 100% of people are satisfied is the day something is seriously wrong. I need to hit the sack, nite y'all.

| Good post G - I would like to add, and with all due respect, Sanjay not unlike myself, must have had the readings of Gengis Khan impact him a bit. Despite all Gengis was accused of, he is mainly credited with establishing trade routes creating prosperity. To this day they are still functional. Sanjay apologized and I apologized. I wish others would forgive, forget, and let's move on and make this a superlative home away from home. |

| How can I top that? You know, I am still on the fence about the issues. I don't personally care about what site this is associated with. I am actually a little embarrassed at some of the stuff in some of these posts. I think we need to start over and reintroduce ourselves again. It's blatantly obvious that this ownership change started off on the wrong foot. One issue that seemed to get some people upset is the merging of databases of members. The membership of this site as a whole hates change. More than anything I have ever witnessed. I know I paint with a broad stroke here, but there are quite a few people who hate any change. They will complain just to complain. They have brought down the site. I still to this day think the reputation system was going to work ( and was a good idea), but of course a few bad apples didn't like it, stormed off and made a big raucous about it. Then people starting abusing it and it all went downhill from there. I am unsure as to why so many people here are against change? When I was young, I had a problem with change, always seeing the negatives in that change. I have been lucky to work with some incredible mentors in my tenure at work, and they all told me that I should embrace change and look at the positives first, then the negatives. Once I started doing that, my career took a giant step in the right direction. Reading this thread makes me sick. So many of my friends leaving over silly stuff. What a big charlie foxtrot!

| Ok so... nubs: how has your forum changed? It's been at least a week since you've been merged with genmay... Have you been seeing goatse spam everywhere? Furry porn? Anything? What's the problem? I know I haven't visited this place ONCE since my last post in this thread. I like CompuGlobalHyperMegaNet, genmay's own computer forum, and I see no reason to migrate here. You guys aren't being forced to visit Genmay or participate in any of the madness there, same deal goes for regular genmayers and this place. So what's the big deal? |

I personally feel you've approached this as gently as you could really. I mean it's not like ABXzone turned into Genmay 2.0 or anything. I was completely unaware anything had even changed until I happened to glance in the open chat forum for some random reason last week. But you're not CJ, and to many people here that's enough reason to leave. I'm not sure where they would go really, this is the only cushy, feel-good, teletubbies forum I ever visit that happens to have any technical stuff at all.

I wasnt around unfortunately when this change happened, however I've had a look at the posts by sanjay and I can see some of them seem a little terse or even rude compared with what we're used to around here and I see some have taken offence. I think that sanjay is probably used to managing forums where the posters are mostly transient or at least pretty juvenile in their manner, so it may be that he needs to modify his approach here, which I think he is making a huge effort to do already. So we should cut him some slack and give him a chance, specially as it doesnt seem there's much choice. IMO, while the owner can have a lot of influence in the look of a forum, ultimately its the posters that set the mood and that neednt change here at the 'zone.
