Firefox search-plugin for ABXzone

I made a search plugin for Firfox that will allow you to search ABXzone even if you are not at the site. As you know there is a build in search plugin for google in Firefox and you can add in searcg engine but you can also write your own.

Here is one for ABXzone by swannema:

1. Copy the the code below into .../firfox/searchplugins/ and call it abxzone.src

Quote:
# ABXzone search plug-in by swannema

<search

name="ABXzone.com"

description="ABXzone"

method="get"

action="http://www.abxzone.com/forums/search.php"

update=""

updateCheckDays=0

queryEncoding="utf-8"

queryCharset="utf-8"

>

<input name="q" user>

<input name="sourceid" value="mozilla-search">

<inputnext name="start" factor="10">

<inputprev name="start" factor="10">

<input name="ie" value="utf-8">

<input name="oe" value="utf-8">

<interpret

browserResultType="result"

charset = "UTF-8"

resultListStart="<!-- Main content start -->"

resultListEnd="<!-- Right column start -->"

resultItemStart="<a href="

resultItemEnd="</a>"

>

</search>
2. Download the favicon from ABXzone here:
http://www.abxzone.com/favicon.ico

rename it to abxzone.gif and copy it to .../firfox/searchplugins/

3. close firefox and restart and it should work.

I never tried myie2, but it has the google search bar and therefore I think it might work in myie2 as well, but I wont install myie2 so give it a try.
You might have to change the line value="mozilla-search" to something different. Just check on the google searchbar in myie2 and compare it.

Made a zip file :)

Well, made a zip file (for the truly lazy) with the abxzone.src and abxzone.gif files... all you have to do is drop it into the firefox/searchplugins/

Attached Files
File Type: zip abxplugin.zip (1.1 KB, 12 views)
