Home Page Mostly Missing; No Email Notifications - Page 3

I've had Woopra blocked with Adblock almost since day 1, and whenever the site's been wonky for others, it's been wonky for me.

All the analysis stuff is at the tail-end of the HTML, which means they'll be parsed last and therefore fetched last (so they'll never block the content of the page being displayed unless you're using a browser from the last century). Just because the status bar says something about fetching from Woopra doesn't mean it's blocking everything else. Those who are curious should use Firebug and its profiling tool to see if there's something wacky going on, my guess would be that there isn't.

Redirecting to the forums is a nice temp fix, but I hope we didn't lose our frontpage all together. Or is something else in the works?

we have some progress- there are articles now. Does anyone know who did the templates on the old front-page?

Templates. That is going back a few years.

Redirecting to the forums was a good shorturm fix. Thank you for you and Matty's effforts.

Some of the functional blocks are in the wrong place.

Even a screen-shot would help.

For some reason the VBadvanced decided to go off for NO GOOD REASON and we had to upgrade it to the latest version before it would work again. Problem is we were not able to preserve the template and rules form the old version.

Sanjay -- For the moment at least, you can also see what it looked like via the search engine cache at msn.com, which shows the page as it existed on Aug. 3 (before the problem arose):

Google's cache is too recent to be helpful.

I saved the page as cached by MSN to my computer, and tried to upload it as an attachment to this post (as an mht file), but I got an invalid file indication. If you like, I could email it to you -- just let me know.

PLEASE disable avatars on the front page news items again. SRT's avatar is bad enough to look at in a thread. On the home page... ugh.

And I mean no offense, SRT, I just can't stand it.

ditto. And, if I remember correctly, the recent threads section used to display the forum that each thread was in.

Yep, and it did NOT show who started the thread, just who made the last post. That saved space.
