I don't think OT is necessary. Most people post in the tech forums on ABXZone.

OK well not to go off topic but, I was just wondering where can you find threads people have posted that arent really technically related and such?? I mean Ive been to quite a few forums and have noticed that at times people had other things going on inthre lives that needed answers or suggestions. Sorry for being such a newwie and such...
Thanks in advance

OT or not I do not understand why it is such a big deal....If you dont like it dont read it. If I start to read something and dont like what i am reading i stop and go on. How hard is that to do? The mods should'nt have to del someones post because they start crying about it and put some jask***** post about it. Be mature and move on to another topic if you dont like it.

This whole OT topic is getting old. I am seeing people starting to take things personally. I would hate to see us lose another member from getting upset over this. Lets all just be merry for Christmas. Except you FB...bah humbug indeed.

i agree it is getting old, but this is my solution for the OT dilema, and i wanted to make a thread to state it rather than throw it in the middle of another thread

Well Abxzone, had differet forums within it, if it is OT, it is usually found in there or moved by a mod into the of-topic.

If it news it put news and announcements forum.

This system seems to work rather nicely, I noticed.

if you simply like the technical aspects and information then make your homepage/bookmark this:
http://www.abxzone.com/forums/index.php?

if you simply like the "strong community" aspects and discussions then make your homepage/bookmark this:
http://www.abxzone.com

i find this site not as technical as other forums, but the shared user experiences with tech and non-tech issues alike is what makes ABXZone diff and a nice place to visit frequently.

all viewpoints are valid, but i just feel like it's ultimately up to you to decide how the Zone fits in your routine.

I don't see What the big deal is either. Like Hondaman and some others have said, read the OT posts or not. It is just one of the forums here and if it is not something that interests you, why read it? The AMD forum is not of any interest to me so I don't read it. Right now there is not a lot of new technology coming out and activity in the technical forums is primarily about routine problems and solutions. I personally like the OT forum and for now, in the absence of new technology, it is what keeps me coming back to this site. I enjoy reading about the trials and tribulations of Lucas Maximus, about Wayne versus the volcano, or what is going on with count miniba down in down under.

I would like to see a button on the front page to fire up the Heated Debates Zone Forums.
A better idea would be able to check the forums you would like to hide (from front page and new posts).

I would hide:

Programming and web work
Linux
Distributed computing
Classified Zone

I made a lot of friends in OT and I've done thousands of tech posts... I therefore qualify for an opinion... unlike some
Keep OT, keep tech (of course) and lets get on with it.

What is the big deal people?
