What does it accomplish to erase those accounts?

I don't know. It just seems sort of AOLish to keep inflated numbers...

Re: Maybe it's time to clean this place up?

I made a thread about this a looong time ago. It was explained to me that there are a lot of members that would register here to be able to use some of the members only tools like search, subscribed threads, etc. but would not post themselves really. So it makes sense to keep the accounts around to allow them the ability to get tech answers, though I would wager 80% or so of the accounts have been abandoned.

As this site has waned, I would bet even more of those members who come here only for tech support have migrated to other forums for those needs. Oh well.

I think itll help organize the database making it easier to keep track of active members.

I rarely make posts, but this is a place I visit almost daily for new information and the forums. If it is decided to clean up the memberlist I will just register again if needed, so it is not a big deal

Re: Maybe it's time to clean this place up?

I don't run an asus, for my main rig anymore. But. I find that the peeps at this forum know computers well and I've seen more people get help they can use here. So I like to try and help keep that up. And, I will post if I think I can help or if I have knowledge about a piece of hardware, they are having problems with or might be looking at to buy.

Also, buying forums and integrating other accounts from other forums right into this db is going to make the numbers fly up.

Either way, its nice for us.
