Re: menu selector gone ?

I've forwarded this up the ladder. I don't know why it was removed, may be as simple as some upgrade that accidentally modified a template. Having it makes more sense than not having it, though.

Re: menu selector gone ?

well seems it will not return.
it must be something to do, to force people to go through the main menu every time or something. i use noscript so i don't see any adds.

Re: menu selector gone ?

SEO = Search Engine Optimization.

Has to do with (for example) rewriting the URLs so they appear to be static html-files even when they're actually dynamically generated. The search engine spiders generally pay less attention to URLs that are blatantly dynamic.

My guess is the SEO package for vB can't generate the menu or something.

I'll look into perhaps knocking together a Greasemonkey script that does something similar. Not ideal, but may be worth it if you're using Firefox.

Thumbs down Re: menu selector gone ?

well well well.... looks like it's r.i.p. menu selector.

as for the search engines explanation, i'm not even going to bother to try and understand the reasoning, since out of the approximately 35 forum boards i visit regularly none have this feature missing. navigating now is tedious.
