| Suggestion Someone else has probably suggested this in the past, but I would like to see a Close Thread option for issues that have been resolved. I've seen this option on other php sites, so I know it exists. Just a thought!

| Could you show a few examples where it would be a good thing? |

| Re: Suggestion Traveler, the idea is to have the option of adding [solved] or similar text to the title of the post. This would change a post with this title: Code:

| Re: Suggestion I would agree with the solved tag. I don't like closing threads. Someone with the same problem may want to ask for clarification.

| Hmmmmm. A solved tag. Not a closed tag. I'm with Rick_EE. I don't like closed threads either. But if someone has the same problem with their same model ATI video card and the solution does not work for them, it would be nice to post in the thread that this solution does not work all the time and are there any other suggestions? If there was a solved tag at that time then it would be incorrect. A closed tag would of course mean many threads with the same problem with different solutions scattered in the video card forum not to mention the same suggestions mentioned many times. |

| Re: Suggestion Thank you for the clarification, Rick_EE. I missed the fact that the suggestion might result in closed threads. Variations on similar problems can occur (as traveler mentioned) and keeping the thread open for discussing similar issues does make the thread more helpful. Still, the fact that the original poster thought that the solution worked would be helpful when looking through lists of threads. |

| Re: Suggestion If I am correct in that an edit of the title is not possible by the thread originator, that person could always pm a mod with the thread link and they would be happy to edit it. I do like the idea of a *solved* edit in the title as I think it would aid more people from endless searching and frustration. One could even take it to the next level and create a *Solved Issues* sub forum in the appropriate locations.

| Re: Suggestion A sub-forum for solved issues isn't really necessary, it's easy enough to use the search functionality to find such threads if they are marked. I believe we do (or used to) put "Sold" in the buy&sell forum whenever everything in a thread was gone. The best way would be if this could be exposed to the thread creator. I don't know if such a vB plug-in exists, or one that could be tweaked without much fuss. Having mods doing this for every single thread is way too much work, if you ask me (my "I read every thread" days are over).

| Re: Suggestion I agree that the option of marking the thread solved or sold should be available to the thread creator. I like it.
