Arrow Re: Very slow access to ABX

I was getting database error today, and none of the DNS servers could find ABX yesterday. I forgot what the ABX IP was, so I didn't try getting in that way. It finally started working sometime between 9:00 PM, and a few minutes ago. It started yesterday some time with NONE of the DNS servers giving me an IP for ABX. Dunno what the deal was, but now it's back to normal.

I guess I was lucky. I should add that not too long after my last post, the site went down for perhaps a day. Anyhow, we are back up and running now and I hope it stays that way for a while.

Question Re: Very slow access to ABX

Very strange...
I don't have any particular problem with ABX; I go there several times a day; response time is decent, as it has always been.
The trouble may be somewhere on the path to ABX.

Re: Very slow access to ABX

It just came back up here (a little after noon EDT), after being out all morning. Sometimes the symptom was a failed dns lookup, and sometimes the host was contacted but did not reply. Sure would be nice if an admin would let us know what has been going on. I've seen the same symptoms for significant parts of each of the last several days.

Regards,
-- Al

I agree, it would be nice to hear something. The site has been down more this week than it has been up (for me anyway)

Re: Very slow access to ABX

It just hung on me and the browser said it was waiting for a response from Woopra - Website Tracking and Analytics. That being the case, the problem could be caused by an external Web tracking and analysis application or perhaps some other external connection like an advertising partner that hangs and does not respond. Of course, this is separate from the database errors we saw some days ago.
